Sea monster often appears as a 'ship-destroyer' |
Ancient sailor often told stories about the appearance of sea monsters or leviathans. In Greece, sea monsters were often
spotted on the surface of Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea; Egypt’s leviathan was always appeared in the Persia Gulf.
Norse’s krakens were said to live in the deep trench.
Sea Monster was sometime a dragon, but it rarely
split flame. Sea Monster was often having the look of an octopus or sea snake. It often crushes boats and ships.
But
those monsters might be the ancient form of life. Octopus and sea snake appeared on earth earlier than dinosaur; these sea
monsters may be their generations. For example, the lake monster in England, it shapes like the long-necked dinosaur.
The
tales of sea monster were popular from 16th century until 19th century, this was the age of pirates. Many pirates’ shipwrecks
were believed to be destroyed before the stolen goods can be found. These kinds of incidents can be explained by science also.
Science wasn’t popular until the French Revolution, so people of that time believe of tales rather than facts.
Explaination
Storm and whirlpools are the best explanations for those sea accidents. Storm and whirlpool always happens, and destructive.
When it was the Renaissance, people scared to sail because of sea monster. But when South America, Australia, and East Africa
were discovered, people started to sail to Asia for trades. After the Napoleon War, the ship-building technology was advanced,
people can sail faster and safety.
But until now, some of those leviathans still exist, but they maybe just
a false impression.
